In today's devotional reflection, we're going to venture back into Chronicles, First Chronicles this time, to address a question I was asked about the famous prayer of Jabez and the popular book authored by Bruce Wilkinson. As it turns out, the Chronicles have much to say about prayer and God's faithfulness in answering the prayers of his people. But to appropriate these prayers as Christians we have to pay close attention to the context and carefully set aside any baggage we might bring to the text. Open a Bible to 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 and take a look.
