The Work of the Holy Spirit in the Life of the Believer

What does the Holy Spirit do in your life? A lot! Here's a list of the works of the Holy Spirit that we'll look at in today's devotional:

1. He causes the new birth (John 3:5, 8; 1 John 5:1)

2. He takes up permanent residence inside individual believers (1 Cor. 6:19)

3. He seals believers with God's mark of ownership and protection (Eph. 1:13-14)

4. He connects believers to the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13)

5. He helps believers understand God's Word (1 Cor. 2:10-16; John 16:13-14?)

6. He empowers believers' obedience (Rom. 8:7-11; Gal. 5:22-23; 2 Cor. 3:18)

7. He empowers believers' worship (Phil. 3:3)

8. He gives gifts to believers (1 Cor. 12:11)

9. He strengthen and emboldens believers to speak God's Word (Acts 1:8; 4:31; etc.)

10. He gives believers an assurance of eternal life (1 John 4:13; Rom. 8:16)

11. He intercedes for believers (Rom. 8:26-27)

I'm sure there are some I missed. But this is a pretty amazing list!
